Dave and Patty Frensemeier have been avid campers for years! Upon meeting in 2000, the duo spent the first year of their relationship teaching each other. Patty and her 2 boys had been camping for years in a pop-up camper but had never hooked up the water or water heater until Dave, who had never camped, came into the picture. He hooked up the camper amenities and she taught him the joys of camping life! What new experiences for them both!
They married in 2002, becoming a blended family that enjoyed many weekends of camping fun. With 4 children in tow, the Frensemeiers worked their way through many pop-up campers to a 5th wheel bunkhouse and, as the children grew, Dave and Patty were eventually able to upgrade to a motor home. Once their children had grown and gone, Dave and Patty planned to travel in the motor home and visit many places, a lot of places that would involve NASCAR racing!
The Frensemeiers are very involved with community programs and volunteer work in addition to their professions. With Dave, working as a paramedic and firefighter and Patty, managing the sister company, Hills O’ Brown Vacation Rentals, the pair is extremely busy with everyday life. Finding over the years, as so many couples do, that their vacation time was never long enough to suit them, they would often seek solace at a near-by RV park, the Westward Ho Campground. Renting a site at the local campground gave them the opportunity to enjoy the camping lifestyle while still being able to work their everyday professions. They joked that becoming the hosts of a campground might be a great idea for their retirement years.
As the owners of Westward Ho Campground were nearing their own retirement, they offered the sale of the RV park to their long-time guests. After lengthy considerations, the Frensemeiers decided to take them up on their offer! As of May 2020, they are the owners of the newly renamed Friends O’ Mine Campground and Cabins! They are proud to introduce to you their new acquisition and share in all of the updates and transformation that the park is going through! They hope you will come and visit soon!
